Accessibility Statement for the Brown Ranch Website

The Yampa Valley Housing Authority acknowledges the importance of ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities and is committed to providing access to our digital content for all members of the community that we serve.  We are continually aiming to improve the user experience for everyone and are guided by the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

The Brown Ranch Website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.  We are continually undergoing efforts to conform to this standard (more details below).

Website Restructure and Accessibility Work

Our communications team, alongside our third party website design contractor, are currently in the process of restructuring the YVHA website to provide a better user experience for all.  The content currently featured on the Brown Ranch website will be curated and consolidated onto the single YVHA website.

This process includes thorough testing of the new website using the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards with the use of tools such as the Web Accessibility Evaluation Tool (WAVE)(opens in new window),  and other automated and manual testing tools, and making changes or accommodations where suitable.

YVHA will also be evaluating and testing the website via having an Accessibility Conformance Evaluation performed (using the W3C’s Website Accessibility Conformance Evaluation Methodology(opens link in new window)), as well as conducting user testing with people in the local community.
